Description
While walking trough the garden take a deep breath and inhale the wonderful relaxing smell of the purple lavender flowers. Listen to the birds singing and enjoy watching the beautiful butterflies dancing around the violet blossoms of the lavender. Relax - your summer garden is your spa, the fragrance of the flowers is the best aromatherapy.
I wanted to capture all this in this loose watercolor painting without getting lost in to much details to keep the painting fresh like the summer breeze in the lavender plants.

The simplicity...botanical FEEL and organic scatter of my favorite scent is truly Special. I had a particularly abundant yield of lavender one year and hand wove scented wands for closets and bathrooms from long stemmed lavender and lavender silk ribbon for both myself and friends. It was a relaxing and heavenly executed exercise...AHHH. This painting reminds me of that experience...beautiful!
