Description
In this pastel painting a cabbage white butterfly (Pieris brassicae) encounters beautiful purple lavender flowers in a summer garden. As I walk through the garden in early summer, I enjoy the wonderfully relaxing scent of the beautiful lavender flowers in shades of purple, pink and lilac. I hear the birdsong and the buzzing of the bees and enjoy watching the beautiful butterflies dancing around the purple flowers of the lavender. These white butterflies often visit my lavender. I couldn't resist capturing them in this picture with pastels. The picture is painted in an extraordinary vertical panorama format.
